The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it's alarmed in regards to the higher range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no here totally functional office devoted to service the area daily. The provider issue made for intervention experiences a high inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tough for that Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more methods to help the servicing of all prospects and increase usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
